MEET MICHELLE FRANCHINI

Michelle Franchini is a self-taught collage artist based in Hamble on the South Coast of England. 

Michelle discovered the magical world of collage around five years ago almost accidentally and since then has not looked back.

Specialising in hand cut analogue collages; her intricate work has a whimsical and surreal quality to it. 

She has sold her work to a network of private collectors, and has recently completed commissions for furniture restorers; who use her colourful designs as decoupage to transform and elevate chosen pieces.

Michelle's art is easily recognisable; using repeated imagery of chequered pathways leading through landscapes, littered with period properties, nestled amongst the hills of English landscapes. Her work has an Alice in Wonderland vibe, coupled with humour - often depicting animals dressed and set in familiar surroundings.

Her catchphrase is "bored by the ordinary ....inspired by the extraordinary".
